Mailing lists

We live in an age of information. All suppliers in the government database should have email. Those that do not it should be fairly easy to get them on to it. Once this is done a mailing list should be created using categories that they fall into i.e. Construction, Education, Technical etc.

The procurement officers will then only select the correct category when loading an RFQ. This will in turn ensure that everybody that is on that mailing list gets send the RFQ.

This will help alleviate the suspicion that procurement officers only send RFQs to privileged few who happen to be in their circle of influence. It will also ensure that there is healthy competition in the government procurement circle. Healthy competition will also help the government to curb on inflated prices.
