Coalition for Ethical Operations nominated as a finalist in the Gauteng Premier’s Service Excellence Awards for Clean Governance

The Coalition for Ethical Operations and its members have been recognised for their efforts in in promoting ethical business practices through the implementation of anti-corruption programs.  The work of the Coalition  has been selected as a finalist in the Annual Gauteng Premier’s Service Excellence Awards in the Clean Governance Category.

With combating the scourge of corruption at the forefront of the United Nations and OECD missions, the Coalition members are responding to the increased pressure by acknowledging that ‘no company can solve a global crisis on its own’ and forming a united front.

Corruption and bribery are global phenomena that continue to negatively impact on business operations across the globe. To mitigate this risk, companies need to establish strong ethics and compliance programs within their organizations, as well as engage in programs that positively impact on the business environment within which they operate. The purpose of the Coalition for Ethical Operations is to engage in a program of activities aimed at promoting ethical business and reducing bribery and corruption across Sub-Saharan Africa.

 The specific objectives are as follows:

  • Sharing best practices in promoting ethical business and reducing corruption;
  • Promoting training on ethical business and anti-corruption for Small-to-Medium Enterprises in supply chain management; and
  • Engaging in occasional and voluntary collective or collaborative action.

The Premier’s Service Excellence Awards event is taking place on Thursday, 28 February 2019, and The Coalition for Ethical Operations will be represented by Ms Prabashni Naicker (SNC-Lavalin), Ignatius Pohl (SASOL and Prof Deon Rossouw (TEI).
